Founded in 1970, its mission was to enhance the professional qualifications of cultural and artistic personnel during a period of rapid social and cultural transformation.

International Cooperation
Since 2019, the Academy has actively participated in international projects, including Erasmus+ WARN and the ARCO initiative, which offers students unique opportunities for artistic collaboration, masterclasses, and cultural exchange. In 2024, a representative office was opened in Antwerp, further strengthening the Academy’s international engagement. As a member of ELIA and the UAx Platform, the Academy is part of a global network of arts universities, providing access to international scholarships, mentorship, and mobility.
